With the introduction of the world wide web, SEO and Social Media, I am stumbling more and more upon unethical people with no integrity and I don’t like it. It really bothers me that there are so many people out there trying to take advantage of their fellow man!
I think now more than any other time in our history we need to be extremely careful with who and what we put our trust in. And don’t let the word “Christian” fool you. There are a lot of unsavory Christians in this world too I am sad to report.
So how do you protect yourself, your family and your business from all of these unsavory characters? Research, check-up on people. If you’re using someone for SEO or Social Media Marketing ask for references and call those references. Word of mouth is still the best form of advertising-ask people who have used the services. And remember if something sounds to good be true, it probably is a scam. Don’t give out credit card numbers or cash checks or give out pertinent information to anyone that you haven’t thoroughly checked out and know that you can trust.
Don’t click on links in emails telling you to log-in into bank accounts or credit card accounts or paypal accounts. Those links contain viruses and by the time you figure out that it wasn’t your bank, credit card company or paypal the culprits will completely wipe you out! Either call the company that supposedly sent the email or open a separate window on your browser or use the url or link that you always use to log-in into your account to verify.
Don’t open files or attachments that you aren’t 100% sure of where they came from. Don’t click on links in emails or messaging on Social Media sites unless you are sure they are okay. If a friend on a Social Media site gets hacked, it will look like the message came from them, don’t be click happy, don’t click…
Don’t click and don’t worry, there are still a few of use left work on the www-do SEO and Social Media who have a high standard of integrity and ethics. We know how to treat people and we still believe in the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!
